Edmonton, AB

We drove to Edmonton, Alberta this morning and arrived at our campground a little after noon. After a quick lunch we drove the 6 miles to West Edmonton Mall, the largest mall in the world. There are over 800 stores, an amusement park, a water park, and ice skating rink, a sea lion show, an aquarium, a bowling alley and lots of other things to see and do. We spent the whole day there. We had free tickets to bowling, so Deidra and Dom bowled two games.

Spending the day at the mall was the highlight of the whole trip for Deidra. What 14 year old girl would not consider shopping at the biggest mall in the world to be just short of heaven? Dom bought a couple souvenirs and Deidra bought a new blouse. We had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory before coming home about 8:30 pm.

Tonight is laundry night since we have full hookups. We may be up late getting three loads done.  I have wireless internet tonight, but it is very slow so I only included a couple pictures.

We only drove about 160 miles today, but that is 160 miles closer to Alaska.

  1. Okay, Richard, time to give that new camera to someone else and get yourself in a picture or two. We need proof you are actually along on the trip!

  2. I can see four plates on the table; unless Dom ate two meals, the photographer must have there. I'm not an expert, but I think the pictures are great; they are so clear.

  3. Is it west to Prince George from here, or north to Peace River? Seems like when I drove the Alaska Highway it started at Prince George and you had to go that way, but I may remember wrong.

I agree with Donna that you need to teach somebody else to use that camera. I bet Dom would enjoy being a photographer.

  4. Daryl, if you look at the Google map, you can see the highway going up through Grand Prairie, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson and then through the Yukon to Alaska. I've been following along, finding all the towns they mention.

  5. You've been quiet for several days. Hope all is well.

Datastorm still has you at Edmonton, but of course you can't update that until you connect again.

Hope the latitude doesn't degrade the connection.
